Guava

Touch

A ripe guava will be soft and yield to your touch under light pressure.

For a perfectly ripe guava, look for one of with a yellowish color, which can sometimes have a touch of pink, too.

Past that, make sure that the fruit is free of blemishes or bruises.

Smell

With a guava, the main rule to follw is: the nose knows.

You should be able to smell the a sweet, musky aroma, that will be so strong that you shouldn't even have to raise it to your nose.
