Pick it up and give it a little squeeze — a good lemon should be somewhat firm yet have a bit of give.
Look for a lemon that feels heavy for its size, which means that it'll be juicy.
We're looking for glossy here. Avoid lemons that look a bit dried out or matte in color.
Though it'll do more than well at room temperature, to avoid your lemon from getting dried out, store it in the fridge.
