How to choose the best:
Pineapple

Touch

Try pulling one of the fronds from the center of the crown — if it slips out easily, you know the pineapple is good and ripe.

Past that, look for a fruit that feels heavy for its size.

See

Look for a pineapple with a greenish tint to the flesh, though this is far from the most important sign.

Another good sign to look for is a symmetrical pineapple.

Smell

Smell is a great signifier, so look for a pineapple with a a nice sweet, floral smell emanating from it’s base that doesn’t smell overripe or fermented whatsoever.
