How to choose the best:
Mint

Touch

Look for a slightly rough texture across the robust leaves, and nice, strong stalks. Avoid anything that seems as if it’s wilting, soft, or slimy at all.

See

Look for bright emerald green color across the leaves, and avoid any that seem pale, yellow or brown at all.

Smell

Give a good sniff — you’re looking for strong, almost bracing aroma here. Remember: the main reason you’re using mint is for just that flavor!

How to store

Once cut from the ground, mint does best in a humid environment, so try wrapping in a moist cloth or paper towel before storing in a plastic bag, and just swap out the cloth at least once per week.
