How to choose the best:
Nectarine

Touch

A good nectarine is plump and firm, but not too hard. If it's hard, it's underripe, while mushy, means overripe.

See

Some nectarines are fuzzy and some are glossy, so don't be surprised by either!

Keep an eye out for any bruises, major discolorations, or shriveled spots.

Smell

Give a good sniff: ripe nectarines have a nice floral smell. Too sweet or fermented might mean the nectarine is past its prime.
